CYNTHIA MARTINEZ

Cynthia Martinez is a ceramic artist whose work bridges tradition and contemporary design. Rooted in her Mexican heritage, Cynthia draws inspiration from the textures, colors, and forms of traditional cookware she grew up seeing in her grandmother’s kitchen—pieces shaped from volcanic stone, wood, and clay.

Specializing in wheel-thrown, functional pottery, she creates objects meant to be used, shared, and woven into everyday rituals. Each piece reflects her belief that handmade work carries a story—one that connects the maker, the user, and the earth itself.

Based in California, Cynthia works full-time from her studio, shaping clay with intention and respect for its history. Her work celebrates the tactile beauty of the medium while honoring the cultural traditions that continue to guide her creative process.
